Lockdown Order: 34 Lagos Residents Arrested For Jogging, Sentenced To 14 Days Quarantine And 30 Days Community Service

A total of 34 Lagos State residents were arrested for jogging along the Gbagada expressway in Lagos state on Wednesday morning despite the lockdown order and they have been sentenced to one month of community service and compulsory quarantine at the Infectious Disease Hospital Yaba.

They got arrested by security operatives in the area and then arraigned by the state government before a Magistrate court in Yaba.

The arrested joggers pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of working out in a group larger than 20 persons on the Gbagada-Oworonsoki Expressway, although 3 out of them please not guilty.

The court ruled that all 34 of them should be quarantined for 14 days at the Infectious Diseases Hospital Yaba or any other place designated by the government.
