The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, who tested potive to Coronavirus, has recovered from the deadly disease.

Makinde, who revealed a week ago that he tested positive to the deadly virus, disclosed that he has beat it and his second test came back negative.

He announced this via his official Twitter account. He also expressed his gratitude to everyone, especially Professor Alonge Temitope, the Acting Head of Oyo State COVID-19 task force. He added that he will resume his duties today April 6.

He wrote: “I am deeply moved by your prayers and support throughout this period. I am so thankful. This evening, I received my second negative test result for COVID-19. I especially thank Prof Temitope Alonge, who acted in my stead as Head of the Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force.

“I am also grateful to all members of the Task Force for their cooperation during this time. I will be resuming my responsibility as Head of the Task Force from tomorrow.”
